First Alert Forecast: Moderate trades and north shore surf

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Moderate easterly trades are expected this weekend. The wind speed of the trades will also gradually increase up to the beginning of next week. Moderately breezy conditions are expected on Monday and Tuesday.
Windward showers are possible throughout Saturday and Sunday, and an increased chance for rainfall exists during the beginning of next week. A pocket of moisture will approach the state from the east on Monday and could lead to scattered showers throughout the beginning of the week.
A small south shore swell will continue to drop in size on Saturday. Surf on north-facing shores is on the rise as a moderate reinforcing bump approaches the state. Surf will continue to grow on north and west-facing shores late Sunday and early Monday as a near-advisory swell approaches the island chain.
